More October Release Inspiration

Good morning, friends! Today the Papertrey Ink designers are sharing even more inspiration using the October release. I had a blast creating for the upcoming holiday season. A little mood music and a mistletoe candle and I was in the zone! This is going to be a photo heavy post, but I'm not going to go into too much detail, so feel free to leave any questions in the comments and I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. All of the recipes will also be at the end of the post, so you can check there for specific stamp sets, ink colors, dies, etc. That said, let's get on to the projects!

Let's kick things off with an ornament I made with Betsy's newest Tiny Town: Gingerbread die collection.

Gingerbread House Ornament

I used painted coasters to create a base. A little Mod Podge, Polyfil, and glitter makes for a nice, snowy landscape.

Gingerbread House Ornament Side

The fence, garland, and wreaths are from the coordinating Holiday Yard set.

Gingerbread House Ornament Top

There's a fine coating of glitter on the roof and architectural details to give everything a fully sugary vibe.

Gingerbread House Ornament Back

I sponged a little bit of ink around the edges, too, to give it a freshly baked appearance. I can't wait to hang this on the tree this year!

Up next, I have a hostess gift featuring Dawn's Cozy Christmas thermoses and a sentiment from Christmas Cuts Sentiments.

Hospitality Coffee Bag

This is the small window coffee bag that Papertrey sells.

Hospitality Coffee Bag Bow

I used both of the new bow dies to create a wrap around the top of the bag. It's not adhered to the bag, so it will come off easily.

Hospitality Coffee Bag Thermoses

The large Fancy Flakes die is a great base for these charming thermoses.

Next, I have a shaker card I made with Maile's Shaped Sayings: Christmas die.

Merry Christmas Shaker Card

I didn't use any stamps at all on this card. No stamps! The dies do all the hard work. I inlaid the Shaped Sayings die cut and cut out the center with a circle die (so you could actually see the shaker insides)

Merry Christmas Shaker Close Up

I filled my shaker with chunky glitter and sequins.

How about a gift tag? This one features Nichole's new Script Swirls: Christmas.

Script Swirls Christmas Tag

I stamped the sentiment and images directly on the tag and then layered a banner that I'd heat embossed with the "To:/From:" from Christmas Cuts Sentiments.

Next up, I have a colorful, modern holiday card made with Maile's new Quick Notes: Holiday set.

Quick Notes Merry & Bright Card

I die cut one plate from each color of cardstock and inlaid the strips in the white panel. I used the largest Double Ups: Rectangle to emboss scallops into the card base before adhering the striped panel into place.

Quick Notes Merry & Bright Close Up

I used assorted sizes of clear rhinestones to add a hint of sparkle to the snowflakes.

Another tag? Don't mind if I do. I used another of Maile's new sets, Splits: 'Tis The Season, on this one.

Christmas Candle Tag

I gold embossed the candle and holly frame onto watercolor paper and then colored it simply with Zig watercolor pens. The sentiment is also from Christmas Cuts Sentiments.

Next, I've used Betsy's Dress Up Dolls: Let's Bake set to decorate a tube of treats!

Christmas Cookie Tube

I heat embossed the sentiment onto the tube with white powder. You have to be careful of the plastic window if you do this - it will melt. I used a spare cutting plate to protect the window from my heat gun and I worked as quickly as possible to minimize heat exposure.

Christmas Cookie Tube Sentiment

The little baker fella was stamped onto white cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. His apron was heat embossed and hand cut.

Christmas Cookie Tube Boy

I adhered him to the tube with scortape and used Pure Poppy Saddle Stitch ribbon to bring it all together. And just in case you're wondering, the tube holds 10 Oreos perfectly.

This next card pairs Nichole's Botanical Blocks IV with her Keep It Simple: Just A Note set.

Holly Just A Note Card

I colored the holly with Copics and used Glossy Accents to give dimension and shine to the berries.

Holly Just A Note Close Up

The focal block is surrounded with Aqua Mist blocks and the sentiment is heat embossed on a Sketched Shapes banner.

And last, but not least, I have a card made with Betsy's Inspired: Hope set.

Hold On To Hope Card

November is Lung Cancer awareness month, so I chose to use a white ribbon in my project. This design could be easily adjusted to accommodate nearly any colored ribbon though.

Hold On To Hope Close Up

I used my recent Make It Monday technique to create the background. The white space behind the butterfly wings is completely glittered, so it truly sparkles.

Thank you so much for joining me today! Nichole, Amy, Ashley, Betsy, Danielle, Heather, Kay, Laurie, and Melissa all have more to share with you, too. See you again soon!
